Do you remember this post? I asked you to guess what I was going to make and today I’m going to finally share some more! As you can see, I am going to make a project bag. I promised myself I would keep it simple, but because I just can’t help myself I threw in a twist. And before I tell more, doesn’t those rows of single crochet look super neat?! <3

As you can see I’m embroidering on the single crochet fabric. And with a very special, but also very ancient pattern! I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of ‘sashiko’, but this very old Japanese embroidery technique really stole my heart!

It is very simple and relaxing to do, but yet also very rewarding when you see the pattern emerge beneath your fingers. Just my cup of tea!

Echt mijn ding dus!

I hope I can show you the whole bag when it’s finished soon <3

  • This is so beautiful! I can’t wait to try this Japanese technique. Are there instructions and or video on line for sashiko?
    Thanks for sharing.

    • My pattern will have a helpful link to the technique, as well as tutorial pictures, but if you google ‘sashiko’ there are a lot of tutorials out there 🙂

  • Its beautiful! What a brilliant idea. I have heard of Sashiko – on cloth but never thought of it on crochet. Looking forward to seeing it finished. Thank you for sharing.
