Welcome to this new part of the ‘Inspirational Hexies’ blog serie! If you missed last weeks post with the kimono theme, you can find it here. This new post will concentrate of the air above us: the sky. I think it’s mesmerizing to watch the skies change. One day it’s bright blue and the next it’s purple and green and red and pink and orange. One day it’s a white sheet, the next a thunderous purple bunch of cottonballs. Just amazing. It also was the inspiration for the spotting clouds top, but more on inspired patterns next week.

Welkom bij het volgende deel van de ‘Inspirational Hexies’ blogserie! Als je de post van vorige week hebt gemist, kan je die hier vinden. Deze post focust zich op wat zich boven ons bevindt: de lucht. Ik vind het magisch om de luchten te zien veranderen. De ene dag is de lucht strak blauw en de volgende dag is het paars en groen en rood en roze en oranje. De ene dag een wit laken, de volgende dag een donderend paarse samenklontering van watten. Gewoon adembenemend. Het was ook de inspiratie voor de spotting clouds top, maar volgende week meer over geinspireerde patronen. 

Moodboard / Inspiratiebord

For the moodboard I used magazine cut-outs, and some Catona Cutie Pies* and Stone Washed balls from the Colour Pack*. I also left a lot of white, just like the sky sometimes is.

Voor het sfeerbord heb ik magazine plaatjes gebruikt en wat Catona Cutie Pies* en Stone Washed bolletjes van de Colour Pack*. Ik heb ook een hoop wit gelaten, net zoals de lucht soms is. 

When I think about the sky there are so many colors that come to mind, but I made sure to put the ones that I thought of most on the moodboard; pinks, oranges and blues. Of course grey and white can’t be excluded so they are also on this board. The sky doesn’t show rainbows and sunshine every day. That would be very boring, don’t you agree : )

Als ik aan de lucht denk, zijn er ontzettend veel kleuren die naar voren, maar ik heb die waar ik het meest aan dacht op het sfeerbord gelegd; rozetinten, oranjetinten en blauwtinten. Grijs en wit mogen natuurlijk ook niet ontbreken. De lucht geeft niet elke dag zonneschijn en regenbogen. Dat zou ook maar saai zien, nietwaar : ) 

The hexie / De hexie

For this sky ‘Inspirational Hexie’ I have gone with big and bold stormclouds. I love to watch the clouds and if they look like this it makes my day. I like to pretend that it’s not clouds that I’m looking at, but instead a giant mountain that hangs in the air. We don’t have mountains in the Netherlands, so I like to fantasize that we do, haha. For the yarn I used 9 rounds of different colors of Catona Cutie Pies from my Scheepjes Studio Pack*. You can find the used colors below.

Voor deze lucht ‘Inspirational Hexie’ heb ik gekozen voor grote machtige stormwolken. Ik vind het geweldig om naar wolken te kijken en als ze er zo uit zien, dan maakt dit mijn dag compleet. Ik doe dan net alsof ik niet naar wolken kijk, maar naar een enorme berg die daar in de lucht hangt. We hebben hier nu eenmaal geen bergen, dus dan fantaseer ik maar dat we die wel hebben, haha. Ik heb 9 rondes verschillende kleuren Catona Cutie Pies gebruikt uit mijn Scheepjes Studio Pack*. Je kunt de gebruikte kleuren hieronder vinden.
