Other Inspiration / Andere Inspiratie

When the seasons change, people get inspired. And maybe even a little nostalgic. I remember going into the forest with my mother and sister to collect leaves, acorns and chestnust. When we got home, my mom would make tea and we would make a wreath together. In lieu of that; I have always admired the work of Hillary Fayle. What she does with leaves is amazing! It’s like the adult version of crafting with leaves.

Talking about wreaths! Every year I see it again and every year I contemplate making one, and every year I am far to late to the party and I just give up: the autumn wreath from Attic24! <3 This is some next level crochet stuff!

There will be a time when I will have such a pretty wreath hanging on my door, I promise!

The Hexie

For the second hexie I have gone with the colors of the leaves. It think it’s so pretty to watch the ground covered in leaves, where there previously was only earth. It just shifts your environment into something new and you can look at your surroundings with fresh eyes again. For the yarn I used 8 colors Scheepjes Stone Washed and River Washed from the Colour Pack*. The colorlist can be found below.

*The codes that start with an 8 are Stone Washed colors, the codes that start with a 9 are River Washed colors.

Which colors do you see when you think of autumn? You can use my colors, or come up with your own colorway. You can find the pattern for both hexies here! Don’t forget to show me your hexies on social media, using #inspirationalhexies, because I’d love to see them!
