It has been a while since I contributed to YARN bookazine. The last issue for me was YARN 7 with the theme REEF, for which I designed the Jellyfish top. This YARN has the theme NOW AGE, being concious of all the changes going on right now. Each YARN has four subtheme’s and I was drawn to its subtheme RESPECTFUL (to our planet).

Het is al weer een tijdje geleden dat ik iets voor een YARN bookazine ontwierp. De laatste issue voor mij was YARN 7 met het thema REEF (rif), waarvoor ik de Jellyfish top ontwierp. Deze YARN heeft als thema NOW AGE, waarbij bewustzijn van alle veranderingen van vandaag een centrale rol speelt. Elke YARN heeft ook vier subthema’s en ik was voor mijn ontwerp geïnspireerd door het subthema RESPECTFUL (naar onze planeet toe).

It will be no surprise to you that I love nature and all the creatures within. It is my sole inspiration, a place to retreat and meditate (in the broadest sense) and I want to preserve that for our future generations to come.

Het zal geen verrassing zijn dat ik hou van de natuur en wezens die er leven. Het is mijn muze, een plek om mezelf terug te trekken en te mediteren (in de breedste zin van het woord) en ik wil dit behouden voor al onze toekomstige generaties.

For the ‘Tree hugger scarf’ I’ve chosen pine trees as my inspiration. Using a simple filet pattern and an overlay edge. As you can see this scarf works equally as good for men and women alike : )

Voor de ‘Tree hugger scarf’ heb ik gekozen voor pijnbomen als mijn inspiratie. Hiervoor heb ik een simpel filetgehaakt patroon gebruikt met een reliëfsteek aan de zijkanten. Zoals je kunt zien is deze sjaal zowel voor mannen als vrouwen erg geschikt : )

The scarf uses four skeins of Scheepjes Skies light* (100% Premium Blend Cotton; 100g/340m) in color 116 Cumulonimbus. It’s a very soft cotton yarn with a beautiful handdyed look, creating a rich depth of color.

De sjaal gebruikt vier strengen van Scheepjes Skies light* (100% Premium Blend Cotton; 100g/340m) in kleur 116 Cumulonimbus. Het is een erg zachte, katoenen draad in een prachtige handgeverfde look, met als resultaat een rijke kleurdiepte.
